Unusual Local Architecture

I should say controversial local architecture, people either love it or hate it and there are some like me who find it interesting and unusual.

Weisman Museum

The Weisman art museum is located on the campus of the University of Minnesota.  It was built in 1992 and is made of stainless steel.  It is fun to take photos of and how it looks changes with the color of the sky.

There has been an ongoing game being played for years where the sophists that like to define “modern art” create amorphous blobs of crap, then scold members of the Great Unwashed who “don’t understand” their bold architectural or artistic statements.

Look, if someone wants to load up his BeautyRest with enough lunchmeat to feed a poor family for two years, I say have at it.

The real injustice is that anyone is even pretending that it is art.

People will still marvel at the great architectural works of past centuries long after that crushed-up turkey pan of a museum has been recycled into sewer pipe, or car fenders.

PB – I guess you don’t like the Weisman. I agree it won’t ever be another Hamm building or IDS tower or Landmark center. Too me it isn’t ugly, it is interesting.

  3. What is the difference between a real estate agent and a real estate broker?

  4. Teresa boardman says:

Both a Realtor and a broker can sell real estate but all agents must have their licenses under a real estate broker. Technically all listings and all buyers belong to the broker not the agent. In Minnesota to get a brokers license you have to first have been a Realtor for Two years and then you take a class and some tests and pay some money and you can become a broker.
