This weekend we will all receive a special gift, an extra hour, because daylight savings time ends and we all get to set our clocks back one hour. Every year I ask family members and friends how they will spend that extra hour. Since I am what you would call a type A and like to write to do lists, my extra hour is usually spent planning how to best use my extra hour.
Here is a suggestion on how to turn that extra hour into productive time:
Set all of your clocks back one hour and synchronize them. Don’t forget the VCR, coffee pot, stove and microwave. the challenge is to get the clocks to all display the same time at the same time. If this does not pose a challenge, or use up the entire hour, try synchronizing the clocks in your vehicles with the clocks in your home.
Here is a link to the US governments official time web site. [link] This year I am going to try getting the web site on my Blackberry and carrying it with me from clock to clock. My goal is to have a half hour left over that I can use for something really important like cleaning out my sock drawer or finding the lids for every piece of Tupperware that I own.
Sieze the half hour Teresa, but remember you have to give it back in the Spring! So, if we have to give back an hour, does that mean we actually lose half an hour?
Paula – way too deep for me. I have a plan for my extra hour, I am going to sleep through it. 🙂
I keep my clocks about 15 minutes fast so I’m early for appointments. I have only an extra 45 minutes.
I spent 30 minutes putting away my sandals and getting out my real shoes. My toes are very sad.
Chris – every clock I have has shows a different time. Does anyone really know what time it is?
Linda – my toes feel your pain. I had to get my shoes out a couple of weeks ago. Have not worn them much though becasue I can’t find my sock. 🙁
The real question is does any CARE what time it is? My body is in revolt right now. It looks like night-time but my brain says not!
Sandals get put away? We wear them here in Colorado 12 months of the year.
