New listings Vs, Sales

Picture1_2

Real estate sales here in Minnesota slow during the cold winter months.   The numbers above are created using data from the RMLS and are deemed reliable but not guaranteed.  They cover all of 2007, up to October 1.  The red line shows the number of homes listed each week in St. Paul, MN, and the blue line shows how many homes received offers during the same week.  The tree in the background has nothing to do with the numbers, but is located on a piece of real estate in St. Paul.

Some of the dips in the blue line are near major national holidays.  I like to call that  the holiday dip.  There is an extra dip in the blue line in March, that was caused by a big snow storm, we can call that the blizzard affect, or TBA, to keep it simple.

Next week we will take a look at prices and sales by neighborhood.

* Blue line = sales, Red = listings
