Buy Local

Go to the restaurant or coffee shop down the street. Eat, drink and be merry while at the same time supporting local businesses. They make our neighborhoods and our city strong. There are so many options.  It has been a hard year for our local businesses.  Just drive along University avenue in St. Paul and see the vacant store fronts. We don't want any more vacant store fronts. The slowest days for most restaurants are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mickey's Diner

This is the most photogenic restaurant in St. Paul, Mickey's Diner on 7th and St. Peter Street, downtown.

Brewberys

Brewberrys on Fairview and Randolph even says "neighborhood coffee shop" right above the front door.  It is also one of the warmer coffee shops around.  I have had their ice cream and it is wonderful but never a blue ice cream like the one on the building.I don't like to eat things that are blue unless they are round and served on top of a waffle.

  1. Shopping local is almost a way of life for many people here in Austin. They make bumper stickers that say “Keep Austin Weird” What that means is to support local shops. Thanks for the great post!

  2. Brewberry’s has “Superman” ice cream which is mostly blue, and my five-year-old craves it all summer (the three-year-old is a vanilla guy). We love to walk to Brewberry’s for ice cream on a hot summer night (with the additional benefit of exercise to wear the children out so that they will go to sleep even though it is still light outside)

  3. Brewberry’s egg nog latte is divine. The staff there are fabulous, too.

  4. Thanks for the image illustrations it really looks awesome and would love to go St.Paul and Mickeys car
