  1. Those are absolutely incredible. How many hours do you suppose go into making those? And do they carve them right there on the spot or truck them in?

  2. Teresa boardman says:

Yes they carve them on the spot. They use chainsaws and blow torches and chisels.

  3. Mucho cool. We were up there a number of years ago and watched this. I froze my behind off and these guys were out in shirtsleeves! My relatives are all from Minneapolis/St. Paul and they think it’s quite balmy at 30.

  4. Teresa boardman says:

This year wasn’t bad but last year I wad out in sub zero weather taking photos. I froze my a__ off but none of my friends minded it at all. Not all of us are freeze resistant but we survive.

  5. Yes they are amazing. When I lived in Harstad in Norway, I actually stayed in a ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi in Sweden. Do you know that the swedish goverment actually moved part of the town Kiruna (the nearest city to Jukkasjärvi) due to mining and the house prices remained stable. Now thats absolutely incredible.
