Do you know where your Realtor is?

Questionmark_2

This weekend some home buyers came to the twin cities from New York.  This is their second trip to Minnesota to look at homes.  We found a home that they are interested in.  They may make an offer on it.

The MLS sheet on the home says that it has a three car attached garage.  We could not find the garage.  We all looked but it doesn’t seem to be there.  The home has been on the market for a year.

I called the agent who has the home listed.  I can not find her.  Now I am asking her office to help me find her.  We are going back to the home for a second look before the buyers leave to go back home.

Which will we find first the agent or the three car garage?

  1. Tracey, my sister-in-law, was putting a tour together for a client. She looked at three places where the MLS said they had a garage. The client wants a garage. None had one.

Perhaps aliens are stealing garages. We should check with others. If this appears to be the case, we should contact Homeland Security.

  2. *sigh*

I see Phoenix isn’t the only place where ridiculous bullsh, excuse me, “stuff” like this happens.

We tried once for a couple of days to reach an agent. Called the broker, and his response was, “yeah, she rarely answers the phone. Try email.” ?????????

  3. Teresa – Some people are jsut born incompetent. Similar situation…my clients chose an alternate property, got an accepted offer that day, we had inspections the next morning (little prior planning there), by that afternoon they had flown back home before the agent called back. Too busy to return calls was the excuse. Oh, well. Kinda tough to sell a house that way.

  4. I’ll take a stab –

You’ll find the Realtor, first… at some caravan open house trying to win a gift and eating some snacks…

The garage is never going to show up.

  5. Doug – I could just cry. My client really wanted that garage and all we found was a tool shed near an unpaved alley.

  6. Maybe the agent is in the garage!?! Never had to look for a garage…I have had questionable bedrooms that we had to look for in a house. Agents seem to get creative with rooms.

  7. This sort of thing happens so often in my area that it’s commonplace. I’ve seen used cars that are marketed better than some homes. Sad, but true.

  8. Maybe she absconded with the garage and is in hiding somewhere!

  9. I can see that my experience is common. My buyers moved on. The three car garage is still on the MLS. Maybe someone took it and put it on another house. I am going to keep my eyes opened.

  10. In Houston, we have MLS Nazis- they will slam a $100 fine on a listing agent at the drop of a hat for description violations.

Maybe the garage is the undisclosed location where the Redfin showing agents hang out with Elvis.
