call me a nonconformist

It is Friday and Fridays are for fun. I don’t consider shopping fun and I generally avoid crowds except for the crowd that is likely to show up for the annual lighting of the holiday tree in Rice Park tomorrow.  In generally I don’t do anything just because everyone else is doing it. I need a better reason than that.

I usually take black friday off but am always standing by my phone in case anyone wants to buy a house. Real estate is an excellent gift for anyone on your list and black friday or any day is a good day to buy real estate. The gift of real estate is timeless and you can never have too much of it.  [See Rich Vs. not rich]

My phone will ring exactly twice tomorrow. There will that one guy who will call looking for a “reel-it-ter’ and will ask me about homes that were on the market six months ago. I won’t ask how someone can get three syllables out of a two syllable word like “Realtor” but they do, or how people get the “it” sound out of an “L” and a “t”.

The other call will come from these people who did not plan on coming to St. Paul but some how ended up here and they stumbled onto this site and got my contact information, after leaving messages with five other reel-it-ters and now they just have to see this darling house that is on the market just down the street from their sister’s house. No they won’t be buying a home in the area any time soon but they might have some friends that would like it.

Here is my schedule for black friday:

Calendar

It could change but I wouldn’t count on it. I work hard on Thanksgiving day and I have earned a day off. Besides I need to save my money and my energy for shopping and buying locally. I will probably start by eating at a locally owned restaurant in my neighborhood on Saturday morning.
